Are you Athletic? Are you Curvy? Need a lift or coverage in specific areas? Check out the styles that will suit you best. Our Glossary takes the confusion out of swimwear terminology.
Body Styles
Maillot / Tank
A one-piece, traditional tank-style suit. (Pronounced My-OH) May have a V-neck, scoop neck, or halter. An easy suit to wear, comfortable and forgiving.
Great for: Almost anyone - maillot suits come in a wide variety of styles to flatter any figure. Very supportive, especially those suits with an underwire.
Surplice / Wrap
A strategically placed gathering of material, which disguises problem areas like the hips or belly.
Great for: Hiding midsection bulges or imperfections; drawing the eye across to skim over any problem areas.
Bandeau
A one-piece, strapless suit (may come with removable straps). Perfect for those who want a swimsuit that bares some skin but not as much as a two-piece would.
Great for: Pear shapes - bandeaus slim and elongate your torso to balance your shoulders and waist; anyone looking for a versatile style with no tan lines.
Halter
A halter neckline has a flattering neckline with adjustable tie straps that lift and support the bust. Shape Solution™ tummy control helps smooth and lengthen.
Great for: Taking the eye upward to enhance and elongate your figure; anyone who likes the flexibility of adjustable straps.
Swimdress
A swimdress is the perfect silhouette to flatter your figure and trim your thighs and hips. Look for a variety of necklines to suit your style preferences. Full coverage swimsuit sometimes with skirted bottom; sometimes with full dress overlay.
Great for: Thigh and hip slimming and coverage. Sporty fun, for a stylish and confident you!
Tankini
A one piece separate top or a two piece suit, the tankini offers full back coverage with a variety of necklines. Different bra styles offer support for everyone.
Great for: Full torso support and coverage. A versatile piece to be paired with a variety of swim bottoms.
Bra Styles
Soft Cup Bra
Offers comfortable support, while defining shape. It consists of two separate foam pads and an elasticized bottom band.
Underwire Molded Cup
Suitable for maximizing the bust, while enhancing cleavage. It features a thicker, firmer padding and an underwire bra.
Molded Cup
Enhances the bust, while offering comfortable support. It consists of a thicker, firmer padding & doesn't include an underwire.
Underwire Bra
Offers maximum bust support. It consists of two separate underwires and an elasticized bottom band.
Front Lined Bra
Offers minimal support. This bra construction consists of a very thick layer of material, to provide coverage.
Back Styles
Low Scoop Back
Rests an average of 2-3 inches lower than where the bra would normally be. It provides minimal support, while minimizing your back.
High Scoop Back
Rests where your bra would normally lie. It provides maximum support for the bust, while minimizing your back. (mostly found in D, DD, & Women's selections)
Full Straight Back
Lies where the bra normally would. It goes straight across the back. This is a basic back styling that provides comfort and support.
Cross Back
Has a combination of a high scoop back, with two pieces of fabric constructed to form an “X”. It offers maximum support for the bust. (mostly found in DD-Cup selections)
Portrait Back
Offers good bust support for athletic swimmers. A metal clasp keeps the straps in place, allowing you to be more flexible.
Keyhole Back
Best for an athletic swimmer with a larger cup size. It provides similar support to an everyday bra with a clasp in the same area as a bra clasp.
Bottom Styles
High Waisted Bottom
Full coverage bottom and smoothing tummy support provided by four way stretch Miratex. These bottoms are always comfortable and flattering.
Basic Swim Skirt
Firming control panty under a basic skirt overlay. Perfect styling to shape hips and thighs. Swim skirts are available in basic, pleated, sarong and belted styles.
Swim Short
Firming swim panty underneath an athletic comfort swim short. Holding power of Miratex and modest and casual comfort styling make these a must have.
Coverup Styles
Pareo
Also referred to as a sarong, the pareo is one of the most versatile cover-ups. Long or short, it usually is worn tied at the waist but can also be creatively fashioned as a dress or halter wrap coverup.
Pant
Miraclesuit® coverup pants are slightly sheer with a sarong tie at the waist. The nylon spandex fabric makes for perfect coverage on the beach or off.
Skirt
A coverup skirt with no swim panty underneath. Perfect to pair with your one piece swimsuit or swim separates for casual and classic coverage out of the water.
Dress
A versatile dress coverup. Comes in a myriad of styles, colors and prints. Always a style for everyone. Light and playful to chic; a must have to pair with any swimsuit or body type.
Shirt
A coverup shirt adds coverage for any swim ensemble. Usually lightweight and comfortable. Comes in a variety of styles and colors to fit all sizes and tastes.
